The Department of Water Science and Engineering is founded in 1955, and it is one of the first group of higher institutes provided BSc program in Water and Wastewater Engineering. The First cohort of students was enrolled in 1955 and graduated in 1959, and now there are around 120 students graduated per year. After over half a century’s development, this department now has 33 well qualified academic staff with high educational background required (PhD, international education experience, etc.) and professional certificates. They dedicated to provide students with module combination choices for different career paths in water industry. They integrate the concept of “health, safety, sustainability and work ethics” into modules, emphasizing the cooperation with other disciplines in project design modules, in order to focus on the needs of students and industry for careers, and help the students to develop competence for career. Staff are in five teaching groups leading by senior staff who are famous experts in both academia and industry, engaging in teaching improving research projects with a few textbooks published as recommended ones by the national education authorities. |
