Research Description
Dr. Zhai is a Professor and Ph.D. supervisor in the College of Environment and Ecology. He is the Director of the Department of Water Pollution Control and Constructed Wetland Technology (Research Institute of Industrial Technology, Chongqing University). He is the author of over 120 peer-reviewed publications and has 27 granted patents. His research focuses on constructed wetland systems, village wastewater treatment, and restoration of black and odorous water. He has led over 8 national scientific projects and over 10 provincial and ministerial scientific projects. He was granted 7 provincial and ministerial achievement awards. He participated in the compilation of 2 national standards and 2 industrial standards. He is the first batch of the “Chongqing Talents and Innovation Leaders Program” and the “Chongqing Academic and Technical Leaders Reserve Candidates”. He was awarded the outstanding youth of the National Water Industry. Moreover, he is the member and regional coordinator of the Expert Group on Water Pollution Control Wetland System, International Water Association (IWA) in China.
