The school now covers four departments, namely, the Department of Water Science and Engineering, the Department of Building Environment and Energy Application Engineering ,and the Department of Environmental Engineering and the Department of Ecological Science and Engineering; and four specialties, namely, Water Supply and Drainage Science and Engineering, Building Environment and Energy Application Engineering, Environmental Engineeringand Ecological Engineering of Environment. It now has 100 teachers, among which there are 27 professors and 46 associate professors. The number of internal undergraduates reaches about1,500.

SUCEE has nationally top-rank undergraduate education quality and also achieves international recognition. In the national specialty education assessment, two specialties, namely, Water Supply and Drainage Science and engineering (in 2005, 2009, and 2014) and Building Environment and Energy Application Engineering (in 2002, 2007, 2012 and 2017), were one of the first specialties that passed the specialty education assessment for national registered equipment engineers; and the specialty, Environmental Engineering, was accredited by China Engineering Education Accreditation Association in 2015. Internationally, relative specialties obtained the certification of Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) and Institution of Gas Engineers and Managers (IGEM) in 2013 and CIWEN in 2015.
